Two Weeks In, Instruments Are Moving
Two weeks after launching our instrument drop-off program, instruments are coming in steadily at Chuck Levin's Washington Music Center. We're already working through evaluations — matching what we receive against school needs, and funding our programs with what isn't needed.
It confirms something we'd hoped was true: there are a lot of instruments sitting in DMV closets, and people want them to go somewhere useful.
What's next is more places to bring them. We're talking with additional music stores across the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area about becoming drop-off locations. The goal is simple — make donating an instrument as easy as stopping somewhere you already go.
If you run a music store and want to be part of this, we'd like to hear from you. And if you have an instrument you're no longer playing, Chuck Levin's is open and ready.
